Module Overview

The aim of this module is to introduce learning styles to managers and employees at the work place. The participant will acquire knowledge and competences on learning styles, the cultural influences on learning styles and how to differentiate for learning styles in the organisation. Participants will identify their own learning style.

Participants will identify the connection between learning styles and culture.

In this module participants will understand how and why it is important to raise awareness of learning styles in the working place and how to implement and manage efficient training methods to engage all learners.

Time to complete module: 4 hours.

It contains the following topics:

  2. Cultures and Learning Styles
  3. Learning Styles in the Organisation
  4. Self-Evaluation Test

Steps to be completed:

In order to complete this module you must do the following:

  • Study topics in a suggested order
  • Get acquainted with the provided learning resources
  • Prepare practical tasks and assignments
  • Participate in the classroom discussions if part of your programme
  • Complete a quiz after each part
  • Leave your feedback after a course
  • Repeat some topics if needed
  • Go to the next module

Knowledge and Competencies

Knowledge

  • To know the concepts of “learning styles”, “accommodators”, “divergers”, “convergers”, “assimilators”
  • To define learning styles
  • To describe basic elements of learning styles
  • To identify cultural and personal learning styles
  • To identify appropriate training methods for different learning styles

 

Competences

  • To outline the concepts: “learning styles”, “accommodators”, “divergers”, “convergers”, “assimilators”
  • To analyse the main differences between own and other learning styles
  • To categorise between different learning styles, and the learning methods best suited to each learning style
